Webster and Bennett Vertical Borer

The vertical borer, also known as a vertical turning lathe (VTL), is used to bore holes in metals, usually steel or iron. Just the same as a horizontal lathe, the workpiece is kept stationary whilst the boring bits rotate at high speed via the head.

When accurate boring is required, CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) borers are generally used as they allow for greater accuracy.

Below is Electro Motion's (stock no.30271) Webster and Bennett 54"(1372mm) CNC vertical borer with elevating rail and Fagor control.
